STORRS, Conn. – Junior infielder Briana Marcelino earned a spot on the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll for March 2, as announced by the conference office this afternoon.
Marcelino paced UConn with a .429 average, six hits, four steals and eight runs scored during a 3-2 weekend at the Capital Classic. The Easton, Conn., native recorded two hits, including a home run, and added three RBI and a pair of runs against Santa Clara (Feb. 28), then scored twice the following day in UConn’s second triumph over Santa Clara (Feb. 29) in as many days. Marcelino closed out the weekend notching two stolen bases and two more runs in the tournament finale at Sacramento State (March 1).
